So basically, on the sides of roads and highways, there are usually “rumble strips” that make a loud noise to alert drivers when they wander off of the road. The engineers at Honda wondered if they could modify the carved grooves in the asphalt in order to actually make musical notes. They used a quarter mile stretch of road on the outskirts of Lancaster, California to “create an experience that embodied the connection Civic drivers feel with the road.” Check out what they did:
